父亲已经处在半退休的状态，无聊时，也会看一些我写的东西。比如谈《西游》的这组，因为知道是很可能要出书的，所以加了额外的小心。他备了纸笔，把他觉得可能违碍的字句抄下来，然后提醒我删掉。
暑假前，书交了稿。有一天，父亲好像忽然想起什么，问我作者介绍是怎么写的。我说没有作者介绍。他有些不高兴，说应该要写上的，注明是某某学院的教师。这样，将来把书交给校领导看的时候，会好一些。
他跟我这样说的时候，我不免难过和惭愧。没敢告诉他，不要作者介绍是我自己提出的，也从来不觉得，这本不相干的书，还有给领导过目的必要。
父亲在单位，很有些“有书生脾气”的名声，对很多事看不惯，说话直，不拍马屁。他这辈子干的最不光彩的事，可能就是当初为了我找工作，走了一点后门。这份工作很快就被我因为胡乱说话而弄丢了，现在我在学校教书，是所有老师里学历最低的，而且照例不得一些人喜欢，父亲总是担心我随时会丢掉饭碗。
我已经是三十岁的人了，却仍把从来潇洒的父亲，折磨得像一个担惊受怕的小职员。但是我想不出什么让他安心的办法，想出来，也做不到。

《小话西游》不是我写的第一本书。找不到工作的那两年里，我卖了很多自己也不知道写些什么的文章。如果只算写自己想写的，这倒确实是第一本。

我要感谢包忠文老师和学校。没有包老师为我争取，我不可能成为一个教书匠，而学校毕竟给了我容身之地。有了这点基本生活保障，我才可以随意写些东西。
要感谢六哥和他的《读库》，《小话西游》里的一部分文字，是02年写的，06年发表于《读库0602》，没有这个契机，后面的事也就不必提起了。
